Author Guidelines
Global Media Journal is dedicated to the study of international, intercultural, and mass communication. The electronic nature of this Journal allows for the coverage and discussion of diverse issues and perspectives in a timely and interactive fashion.
Global Media Journal encourages media scholars, media professionals, and graduate students to submit scholarly articles, critical essays, graduate research results, book reviews, and opinion pieces--related to the global communication--from throughout the world.
Plagiarism Policy
The submitted content is subjected to software based scanning for determination of originality and non-duplicity. The journal uses PlagScan Pro (250000PP) software. If the manuscript does not meet minimum publication standards during this initial screening, then the authors are encouraged to resubmit after due revision and improvement. The manuscripts passing this stage are forwarded to editorial processing.
Open Access License Term
After peer-review acceptance, the authors retain the copyright of the article while granting the publisher, a non-exclusive license to publish, deposit and distribute the article. The articles are published under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International license term of CC BY-NC-ND [4.0] whereby the user can copy and redistribute the unmodified article in any medium or format for non-commercial purposes provided the contributors are acknowledged and the original source of publication is cited.
Article Processing Charges (APC)

Global Media Journal is self-financed and does not receive funding from any institution/government. Hence, the Journal operates solely through processing charges we receive from the authors and some academic/corporate sponsors. The handling fee is required to meet its maintenance. Being an Open Access Journal, GMJ does not collect subscription charges from readers that enjoy free online access to the articles. Authors are hence required to pay a fair handling fee for processing their articles. However, there are no submission charges. Authors are required to make payment (if they are willing to withdrawn the manuscript, then the processing fee has to be paid) only after their manuscript has been accepted for publication.

.
Average Article prorcessing time (APT) is 55 days

The basic article processing fee or manuscript handling cost is as per the price mentioned above but the other hand it may vary based on the extensive editing, colored effects, tables, complex equations, extra elongation, no. of pages of the article and based on funding, etc.

From time to time an author may wish to withdraw a manuscript after submission. Changing one's mind is an author's preogative and an author is free to withdraw an article at no charge as long as the article is withdrawn before acceptance. After an article is accepted, the processing in initiated. Hereby if an article is withdrawan after its acceptance, a mandatory amount of post-processing fee is levied on the article.

Author Withdrawal Policy

Authors may at times choose to withdraw a manuscript after submission. This decision is entirely within their rights. Authors can withdraw their article at no cost within five days of submission. However, if an article is withdrawn after this period, a partial processing fee will apply. Each submission incurs costs for the publisher, including overhead expenses associated with processing. Once peer review is completed (often within a week), and the manuscript is integrated into a journal issue, we have incurred costs that require reimbursement. In the event of a withdrawal after this stage, authors will be responsible for paying 60% of the original article processing fee

Fast Editorial Execution and Review Process (FEE-Review Process):

Global Media Journal is participating in the Fast Editorial Execution and Review Process (FEE-Review Process) with an additional prepayment of $99 apart from the regular article processing fee. Fast Editorial Execution and Review Process is a special service for the article that enables it to get a faster response in the pre-review stage from the handling editor as well as a review from the reviewer. An author can get a faster response of pre-review maximum in 3 days since submission, and a review process by the reviewer maximum in 5 days, followed by revision/publication in 2 days. If the article gets notified for revision by the handling editor, then it will take another 5 days for external review by the previous reviewer or alternative reviewer.

Acceptance of manuscripts is driven entirely by handling editorial team considerations and independent peer-review, ensuring the highest standards are maintained no matter the route to regular peer-reviewed publication or a fast editorial review process. The handling editor and the article contributor are responsible for adhering to scientific standards. The article FEE-Review process of $99 will not be refunded even if the article is rejected or withdrawn for publication.

The corresponding author or institution/organization is responsible for making the manuscript FEE-Review Process payment. The additional FEE-Review Process payment covers the fast review processing and quick editorial decisions, and regular article publication covers the preparation in various formats for online publication, securing full-text inclusion in a number of permanent archives like HTML, XML, and PDF, and feeding to different indexing agencies.

All scholarly articles should adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Articles and essays must be written according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, latest edition.
  • Articles should include: (a) article title, (b) author name's, (c) current position/affiliation, (d) brief biography, (e) email and mail addresses, (f) a brief abstract, (g) five to ten keywords reflecting the contents of paper, and (g) the URL for author's personal web page.
  • Submissions must be in camera-ready format and include tables, graphs, charts, etc. within the text.
  • Although there is no absolute limit on length, submitted papers should be confined to approximately 7000 words.
  • Authors are expected to carefully proofread their work before submission.
  • Articles that do not conform to the stated submission guideline will be returned to author's for revisions.
  • Authors are responsible for obtaining any necessary permission from copyright holders for reproducing previously published material, including charts, graphs, photos, tables, etc.
  • Authors should consider including links to any references, web pages, or sites related to their work (this is a strong advantage of electronic publications).
  • Manuscripts must be submitted to the Guest Editor electronically via email, CD, or HD disc in Microsoft Word, Word Perfect, or text format.
  • Authors are strongly urged to not use the automated footnoting feature in Word or WordPerfect as these do not import well into HTML format.  Simply type the endnotes and footnotes at the end of the article per APA guidelines (http://www.apastyle.org).
  • Scholarly articles will go through a blind peer review process while other submissions (invited papers and commentaries) will be reviewed by the GMJ guest editor and managing editor prior to publication.
  • Authors should not submit their articles to more than one edition of GMJ simultaneously.
Invited articles may vary in length but should follow the above guideline. Authors are highly encouraged to include related and useful web links in their work. This would certainly allow the Journal to maximize its potential by offering authors, readers, researchers, students, and professionals immediate access to a wide range of existing electronic resources and web sites. In many respects, the prospects for electronic publications are indeed revolutionary and exciting.
Note: Although contributing authors retain copyright, they give permission to Global Media Journal to reprint their published articles in other electronic and print formats, including books.
